This is very interesting! I had heard of QiGong but only in the sense of it being dispensed by masters of the art to heal others. I did not know there is a form or a practice of this ancient art that allows one to heal one's self! I would like to learn more! I am almost six weeks into recovery from total hip replacement surgery and am doing quite well, but this morning I awoke with a very sore throat and a slightly stuffy nose and am concerned that I may be getting a cold. When you have an artificial joint, infection of any kind migrates directly to that part of your body and can cause enormous problems. I'm aware that colds are caused by viruses, not bacteria, and I don't know if they behave in the same way or have the same effect on a replaement joint, but I am concerned. Does anyone know where I can find information on the practice of QiGong for healing one's self? I would appreciate instructions on what and how to do this. Is it very physical? I ask because I still have limitations of movement with the new hip.
