Bastet also had many kittens around her feet,because she was seen a the Goddess and protector of cats,because of so many people worshiping her at that time,cats would be praised for killing vermin,because rodents would of destroyed the crops if it wasn't for the cats,so another good reason to keep cats :3

                                                       Bastet-the great Cat Goddess

Today i'm going to be talking about Bastet,the feline Egyptian Goddess,of protection.From many descriptions of her from Hieroglyphics and scrolls,she has the head of a  lion or sand cat,but originally in the old ancient kingdom she had the lion head,it was only later in the new kingdom that she later had the iconic cat head,that we know her as today as having now,but she also has a woman's body.But even then she remained true to her war-like traits, but just like domestic cat ,she had the playfulness,grace,affection,and cunning behaviour as well as the ferociousness of a lion,to keep her in balance.

 

She was worshiped very highly as a cat Goddess all over lower Egypt,and she even had a cult where people would honor her by,making or having statues in the home or temple that looked like her,so people can feel safe knowing she is watching and protecting them at all times.Even today there's a temple in ruins sadly,in Delta named in honor of her called "Bubastis".

But cats were sacred to Bastet,and even priest would have cats in the temples and considered them as incarnations of Bastet herself,but to kill or harm a cat was considered bad luck,and punishment was made to those who committed the crime against her or her cats.

In the old Kingdom,she was regarded as one of the daughters of Atum in Heliopolis,but because of her association with Tefnut,however she was generally thought to be the daughter of the sun God Ra or later Amun.She like Sekhmet was also wife of Ptah and mother of Nefertum and the lion-God  Maahes (Mihoes) who may have been an aspect of Nefertum

Oh Rainbow Pleiadian I am so happy to read your story these have been the things that have been happening to me for years now,this is how I know what next to do with this site,or where to go to when I need to be at a ley line at a certain time,they come to me in visions,(inner earth,Shaman,Ashtar,light beings,lions) sentences in my mind and in dreams,I write them down sometimes but I don't really focus on practicing it,they just reach me some how,I have a resistance to being a 'medium' as such,must heal that !
