Another white animal: "The Vale of White Horse"
In Oxfordshire, England, on White Horse Hill, Uffington, just below the summit, is a gigantic figure of a horse cut out of the turf, which when the turf is removed, shows the white chalky soil beneath. The figure gives the hill and vale its name. It is 374 ft. long and highly stylized. It dates back some 3,000 years. The origin of the figure is unknown. It is often presented as an image of Epona and has been described as mysterious, atmospheric and inspiring.

Dear All

We have a few  ancient chalk carvings around Southern England, and the horse is the only animal, so it ,must have 

been very important to them. this is one has an amazing feeling in the air.

i used to sit in the chalk carvings and get covered in white.

My school was next to this one called the white leaf cross and there is the most beautiful views across buckinghamshire from the top of the hill. the trees here  have a pale white shade underneath the leaves and when the wind blows in summer they look soft green.

there is a second white horse in England but it was made in Victorian times, these others are so magical

this is the village I saw my first UFO in in 1989.
